(Video) “Tracy Shay Has Changed The Entire Life Of My Song, Too Late”~ Wendy Shay Openly Admits The Impact Of The Little Girl In A New Interview

Ghanaian songstress Wendy Shay has taken the adage “Gratitude is a Must” to a whole new level as she continues to express her heartfelt appreciation for the incredible impact young Tracy Shay has had on her hit single “Too Late.”
Recounting how it all began, Wendy revealed in a recent interview that Tracy was unknowingly captured on camera dancing passionately to the choreography of Too Late during her live performance at the All Ashaiman Schools Festival held on March 29, 2025. The short clip of the 11-year-old girl singing and dancing enthusiastically quickly took center stage on social media, especially TikTok, where the video has since amassed over 70 million views.
According to Wendy, that single video did not just go viral — it changed the life of the song. In her own words during a Hitz FM interview, she stated:
“Tracy changed life of the song… The song is now playing in over 50 countries.”
This unexpected exposure breathed new life into the track, pushing it beyond Ghana’s borders and introducing it to global audiences.
Recognizing the impact Tracy had on her music career, Wendy decided to show her gratitude in a big way. On April 9, 2025, she paid a surprise visit to Tracy’s school and pledged to fully sponsor her education from Primary 5 all the way through to the university level. During her visit, she also donated an undisclosed amount of money, school supplies, refreshments, and a smart TV courtesy of her sponsors, Peeva Beverages.
The emotional gesture brought Tracy’s mother, Barbara Oteng, to tears, as she described the act as a blessing she never expected. Wendy’s thoughtful intervention has since been praised widely, with many lauding her for not only recognizing young talent but also empowering it in a meaningful way.
