Atlético Madrid are out of all European competitions this season after they finished 4th on the “easiest group” among all the UCL Groups
Atlético Madrid have been eliminated from all European Competitions following a defeat to Porto
Atletico Madrid’s are out of all European football this season after their dismal 2-1 loss to Porto. Early goals from Mehdi Taremi and Stephen Eustaquio saw the hosts race into a lead they never really looked like relinquishing. Bayer Leverkusen picked up a point against group winners Club Brugge to leave Diego Simeone and Atleti on the outside looking in.
Diego Simeone’s side finish fourth, below Bayer Leverkusen, and therefore fail to take a place in the Europa League following two goals in 19 first-half minutes from Medhi Taremi and Stephen Eustaquio.
With progression already sealed, Porto were fighting it out with Club Brugge for the top spot. On the other hand, third place and an entry into the Europa League was the best Atleti could hope for, but unfortunately they lost it all.
And Atletico Madrid have become the first Spanish side ever to walk away from all the European Competitions
