RASTEE , christened ZAKARIA TOUFFIQUE , hails from DABOYA NO.2, a banlieue of JANGA; a town in the NORTH-EAST of GHANA.

MUSICAL LIFE.
The evidence of an abnormal scrotum, they elderly say, is seen in the early stages of one’s testicles; RASTEE’s passion for music, just as the aforementioned old adage holds, was seen at tender age. He performed to the delight of many during school entertainment and durbars and even represent his school in inter-school competitions. The award winning artiste started his commercial musical journey in 2017, same year he went to Senior High School. During his séjour at high school, aside academic works, he strived to unleash several single tracks the hottest of which were SHATTA NIMA, ALHAMDULLILLAH and AMILIYA. These hits, which featured DON DEE, the reigning winner of CHOP DE MIC SEASON 3, secured Rastee a spot in the hearts of music fans in ZABZUGU and its environs. These songs diffused the airwaves of the town for so long a time. He brought to the table of massive hit singles, Nation King, Ligri, and Ayoo, a song that landed him a management deal with a talent-endowed entertainment pundit, MOHAMMED SAANI, under the label ZELLIES HOUSE ENTERTAINMENT based in Walewale.
Rastee, under this industrious management, saw to the release of his breakout song OHEMAA which featured the Afro-Dancehall artiste, SAPASHINI. OHEMAA was outdoored with a well-attended Live Concert in Janga and Yama all in North-East region.
His hardwork was appreciated with three nominations, BEST VIDEO OF YEAR, BEST COLLABORATION OF THE YEAR, BEST NEW ARTISTE OF THE YEAR, in the maiden edition of NORTH-EAST MUSIC AWARDS acronymed NEMA2021. He won the NEW ARTISTE OF THE YEAR in that Scheme.
