Mac Nuru born MacNamara Nuru hails from SAVELUGU in the Northern Region Of Ghana. He was born March 29, 1987 in Accra.
Mac Nuru had his HND and First Degree, respectively at TAMALE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY and KWAME UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (KNUST). He spends most of his time in Uganda and Kenya. He speaks, perfectly, Dagbani, Twi, Swahili, English and other languages.
He rose to prominence after the release of his single MALI ZANI in 2015. He is signed to X’TREME MUSIC. He later featured different artistes from KENYA, UGANDA and CAMEROON on the remix. The voice of SHAPPA MAN( member of Camp Mulla) from KENYA, KEKO from UGANDA and Superstar STANLEY ENOW from CAMEROON.
As usual, NuRu did justice to the song rapping in his Ghanaian local dialect, Dagbani. Commanding a huge fan-base especially in Central Africa, Stanley Enow in his verse also dropped some wavy lyrics in English and French. Shappa Man delivered his bars with a mix of Swahili and English whiles Keko dropped hers in English.
Mac Nuru works part-time as a trade consultant and is determined to help improve communities and touch lives positively through his chain of social enterprises.
Mac Nuru earned yet another international recognition when he released a single “In A Moment” which featured his label mate AT’SON. This song enjoyed massive airplay across Africa including the famous TV Station “BOOM TV”.This earned him a nomination at AFRIMMA. Nuru faced competition from 7 other artists: Amine Aub (Morocco), Antenehminalu (Ethiopia), Bisa Kdei (Ghana), Butera Knowles (Rwanda), Elzo Jamdong (Senegal), Ric Hassani (Nigeria) and Sat-B (Burundi). Visuals of same song won best video at NORTHERN MUSIC AWARDS 2016. He was nominated for Best Artiste Ghanaian Artiste Of Northern Origin in the same award scheme.
